Who in the good name of f*ck wants Kyle Lohse?
February 8th, 2008 by czar

With Schilling out until the ASB, is Kyle Lohse an option?

No Kyle Lohse. Absolutely not.

Just look at Lohse’s splits.  His 2007 home numbers were decent, I’ll give him that, but in 2006 he had a 5.16 on the road, and a 6.79 at home.  Last year was the exception, not the rule.

Not to mention that even if he was a worthwhile acquisition and a clear upgrade over Julian Tavarez (which he’s not) there is no reason to waste money on signing Lohse to a 3-year deal (he’ll get it, don’t worry). It’d be a waste of a roster space and cash, especially in ’09 and ’10.

If the Sox ante up for him now, it’d reek of a panic move to try and solve 2008, while hurting the team in 09 and beyond.

No Lohse. I’d rather have BK Kim at 1 year, then Lohse at 3.

But seriously, if we have to get someone, I’ll take the one year deal with one of the middlings left. Livan sounds good as a #5, but if we have to stick with Julian, sobeit.

For those whose posts serve as the inspiration of my epiphanies and rants, do not be angry, but merely, be honored that you have achieved such status. Names will never be revealed.
