Say no to Michael Barrett
December 10th, 2007 by czar

Why not look into acquiring Michael Barrett?

If we’re going to do that, why not just sign Johnny Estrada?

You’d save money, wouldn’t have to trade for him, better CS/SB ratio than Barrett, better offensive stats last season– comparable offensive stats for their career– same age, AND Estrada (and most other available catchers) didn’t almost come to blows with two of their top starters last season.

Just say no to Barrett. He’s not a long-term solution, and I think he’s too pricey for a stopgap/backup.

About The Site

  • Traversing the land that is known as Red Sox Nation, The Czar Who Wears Red Sox is an attempt at compiling a repertoire of my ever-so-sexy forum posts (when I'm too lazy to write my own damn entry) and other random baseball thoughts that strike. For those whose posts serve as the inspiration of my epiphanies and rants, do not be angry, but merely, be honored that you have achieved such status. Names will never be revealed. Feedback appreciated, as this is a work in progress.
