Slammin’ Sammy for HOF?
June 23rd, 2007 by czar

Does Sammy Sosa make the Hall of Fame?

He probably still gets in (maybe gets the McGwire first ballot treatment– but ultimately, I think he slides in) because I think it’s very hard to punish a guy that hasn’t been proven to take steroids, especially when there are probably a bunch of guys in the HoF from the 80′s/90′s who also took PEDs.

Writers can go on this crusade to keep him out– but again, unless MLB proves it, it’s kind of unfair. I think Sosa took PEDs, but I think many players did in the 90′s as well– Believing something and having it proven beyond a reasonable doubt are two different things.

Of course, this would go in line with my belief that MLB fucked the whole era up, and it’s hypocritical for them and the writers to whine about it now.

  • Traversing the land that is known as Red Sox Nation, The Czar Who Wears Red Sox is an attempt at compiling a repertoire of my ever-so-sexy forum posts (when I'm too lazy to write my own damn entry) and other random baseball thoughts that strike. For those whose posts serve as the inspiration of my epiphanies and rants, do not be angry, but merely, be honored that you have achieved such status. Names will never be revealed.
